HOW IT WORKS

Through applied electro-chemistry principals and an intelligent controller, DeCaIonTM removes water hardness from cooling systems:

Anodic Reactions

4HCO3- - 4e = O2 + 4CO2 + 2H2O

Resultant in Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide are evolved and some biocides produced.

Cathodic Reactions

4Ca2+ + 4HCO3- + 4e = 4CaCO3 + 2H2

Resultant in Solid Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3, Scales) deposited to cathode surface, eliminating it from returning to cooling towel. Mg2+ Hardness and SiO2 are also removed in the process.
